Curve balls!

Life sometimes throws curve balls at us when we are least expecting them. The most recent was that I ended up in the ER on October 4 with severe chest pains. I had been having some arrhythmias, but we were trying to control it with meds. The chest pains were totally new and very scary. My heart rate (pulse) was in the 30's. I had tons of tests run to check for a heart attack, but thank goodness that was not the problem.

I was admitted to the hospital and after numerous tests, the cardiologist performed a heart catherization to check for blockages and any heart damage. The results were great. So, the next day, after discussing all the possible solutions, I had a pacemaker put in. Besides the PAIN, the pacemaker is doing its job. My pulse, which was normally in the 40's, hasn't been below 60. That's what the pacemaker does....keeps it at 60 or higher. I believe that this was certainly the answer to my problem.

I have what's called Sick Sinus Syndrome, but now once I'm all healed from the surgeries, I'm gonna be like a new woman. I can't wait.

I am blessed to have a wonderful family and some awesome friends who care about me. I believe that all the prayers have been the key to the doctors finding out what was going on with my body and using their abilities to treat me correctly. God bless all of you!!

Fall is here!!!

I am enjoying this cool weather soooo much! It gives me energy in the afternoons, but mornings are a different story. I would rather stay cuddled up in my cozy bed than have to get up and head to work. But, work I must.

Brittany and Tyler are busy with their activities. Britt is cheering and has started her gymnastics class back. Soon, basketball will start for her. Then she has church activities and other school activities such as FCA and Wyld Life. Tyler is always going full blast... activity or not. He's just a bundle of energy. I wish I had a fourth of his energy. He's had a practice soccer game (which was a tie), then had his first game last Saturday (lost 6-3)... what he really dislikes is that he had to play against his best friend, Jacob. They are used to playing baseball together, but they aren't on the same soccer team. But, they are so cute on the field. They are constantly high-fiving each other and hugging. They are best buds!!!

Well, Brittany has her first dance this Friday night. I'm excited, but her daddy is having a fit. He wants to go chaperon. LOL... I can't wait to fix her hair and make her up (just a little). I hope she'll have fun. Middle school aged children are really "weird", so I hope that the dance goes well for her.

My dad just had a heart catherization, but everything turned out really well. What a relief!!! It's good to know that all of his (artificial) arteries are still in great shape! Hopefully, no more bypass surgeries for him....EVER!!!!

Well, I'm at work on my break, and it's about time for the bell to ring for 3rd period. So, I better get to it! TTYL
